On November 5, a match of the 4th round of the group stage of the Champions League took place at the Alfamega Stadium in Limassol, in which Paphos hosted Villarreal.

The only goal was scored by Paphos defender Derrick Lucassen in the 67th minute after a corner – he accurately closed the pass in the penalty area, beating the defenders of Villarreal. Paphos actively pressed the opponent, several times creating dangerous moments, but the visitors’ goalkeeper saved the team from conceding the second goal.

Paphos have five points in the group after four rounds with their first win, while Villarreal have just one point and continue their failed Euro season.
