In the match of the 1/8 finals of the Cup of Ukraine, Bukovyna hosted Niva from Ternopil. The hosts won with a score of 2:1. The result of the match was summed up by the head coach of Bukovyna Serhii Shishchenko:

“First of all, I want to thank our fans who came to support the team on weekdays. They drove us forward, and I am sincerely grateful to them for this incredible support, for the emotions we receive from each other. This is very important for us, for the team, for the boys. As for the game itself – we already met with Niva and understood well how this team can act. This time the opponent changed the scheme: if in the championship they played more than each other at one, we chose the option with five defenders, betting on the positional defense, and I’m grateful to the guys that they did it. I think that it was our game, and I’m satisfied with the game and the result, of course the last minutes of the ball were nervous. But that’s why we love football – for emotions, for patience, for fighting to the end,” Shishchenko said.

– Could the course of the match have changed if Niva realized her moment at the beginning of the meeting?

– If we conceded earlier, we would have recovered, but we would not have deviated from our game. After scoring a goal, Niva would be even more defensive – this is 100%. We would still have to expose their defenses. I don’t have the feeling that we won’t win this match. I believe in the boys, their ability, our game and understanding what they do on the pitch. Thank you again for your dedication and emotions.

Bukovyna has a streak of 14 victories in all tournaments: 36 scored, 11 conceded. As a result, the first place in the First League of Ukraine and an exit to the 1/4 of the Cup of Ukraine.
