This achievement is historic for the club. The last time four goals for Marseille in one championship match was scored by the legendary Jean-Pierre Papin. The Golden Ball winner set his record in January 1991 in a game against Lyon.
Greenwood’s magical performance not only earned him a place in the club’s history alongside the great Papin, but also allowed Marseille to climb to the top of the Ligue 1 table, capitalizing on PSG’s misfire.
The match against Le Havre was not easy for the hosts: they conceded first. However, the expulsion of the guests and the penalty realized by Greenwood in the first half changed the course of the game. In the second half of the meeting, the English forward scored three more times, finally burying the intrigue.
