The head coach of Polissia, Ruslan Rotan, shared his impressions of the match of the 9th round of the UPL against Shakhtar (0:0).

“Both teams wanted to win, so there was a lot of heat and a real fight on the field. The fans supported us brightly and emotionally – I thank them for that, they inspired our players, who gave a lot of effort,” the coach said.

Rotan also spoke about the injury of the Veletny player, due to which a replacement had to be made.

“Regarding the game, we went into defense with desire and character, this is an absolute plus. In the attack, the first 30 minutes looked decent, we had moments, but then we gave the initiative to Shakhtar a little bit. We said before the game that under no circumstances should we let them have the ball and we must constantly press. After the 30th minute, it became more difficult, the miners controlled the ball and created several dangerous moments near us gate” — he explained.

The coach also emphasized the importance of the character of the team and the need to analyze the match before the next game with Obolon.

“We have to move on and work on the mistakes. This match showed that our players are ready to fight for a result, which is very important. The return of international players creates a certain imbalance due to transfers and different tactics, but that’s normal. I’m glad that we have a lot of players from the national team and we want to develop them,” Rotan added.

The match between Polissia and Obolon will take place on October 25 in Kyiv.
