On the eve of the Italian championship match against Fiorentina, Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri held a press conference where he called on the public and the media to leave striker Rafael Leau alone.

​”Leau is being talked about too much. Leave him alone, let him play,” Allegri said. “He’s had an intense week of training and is ready to be the main character again. He has extraordinary technical qualities. Rafa is a golden boy, he will have a great career and show his value during the season.” ​

The coach also commented on the rumors about the tense atmosphere in the dressing room after the draw with Juventus, denying the existence of any conflict. “Nothing happened. After that draw we shouldn’t have been satisfied because it was a game we could and should have won,” he explained.

Speaking about the future opponent, Allegri noted the strength of the Violets: “All matches are difficult to win. Fiorentina has great quality. You need to play with a lot of attention.”

Finally, the mentor emphasized the importance of every point in the fight for the highest places.

“You have to think that every ball is crucial for achieving our goal. One point more or less can decide the fate of the Scudetto or getting to the Champions League,” Allegri concluded.
