Barcelona football club has decided not to return to its home stadium Camp Nou, despite the city council giving the green light to host matches with a limited number of spectators.

​After numerous delays related to the reconstruction, the city authorities allowed the club to open the first row of the stadium, which can accommodate 27,000 fans. However, the management of the Blaugranas decided that, from a financial point of view, it is more expedient to continue playing at the Olympic Stadium.

The club plans to wait for permission to be given for a much larger stadium capacity before organizing the long-awaited return to the revamped Camp Nou. The priority for Barcelona at this stage is financial stability.
