The China Football Federation plans to offer Fabio Kannavaro a new contract for the post of head coach of the national team. Negotiations between the parties are expected on September 29 in Milan, reports journalist Nicola Skira.

Earlier, Kannavaro rejected the previous proposal of the Chinese Federation, waiting for an invitation from European clubs.

The Italian already worked in China: from 2014 to 2015 and from 2017 to 2021 he headed the Guangzhou Club, and in the spring of 2019 temporarily performed the duties of a national team coach. Under his leadership, the national team lost two friendly matches – Uzbekistan (0: 1) and Thailand (0: 1).

The last place of Kannavaro was Dynamo Zagreb, from which he was released after 3.5 months in April this year.
