– There were some negotiations, but not directly with the club’s management. In some sense, this is somewhat Dutch team, you know? Many players from the Netherlands played there, and, of course, Dick lawyer worked there. Somehow I played there when I played for PSV – this is an incredible atmosphere. I felt similar in Antwerp, – Van Bommel said in an interview with Talksport.
He also emphasized the high level of the Scottish League and club ambitions:
