Barcelona President Jan Laporta has confirmed that the club is ready to support La League’s initiative to hold the official match of the Spanish Championship in the United States. This step aims to increase the global attractiveness of the tournament and expand its audience.

“I am at the disposal of La League. If La League needs to have a match in the US to promote my image and increase commercial attractiveness, we are in full disposal of La League,” Laporty said.

At the same time, he stressed that the club wants to avoid sports losses in the event of a match:

“Obviously, we want the match, as far as possible, do not cause any sports losses – that I think it will happen – and we have already informed La Liga that he was in full disposal.”

The idea of holding La League matches outside Spain is not new, but has received a new momentum within the global league growth strategy.
