Lids United has reached a fundamental consent with Newcastle on the transfer of central midfielder Sean Longstaff. About it reports Journalist David Ornstein with The Athletic.

The transfer amount will be £ 10 million with 2 million bonuses. This is the third proposal of Lids, which, after all, satisfied Newcastle, because other options for reinforcing the midfield were also on the radar of the Yorkshire Club.

The personal terms of the contract with the player were agreed earlier. 27-year-old Longstaff had a Newcastle contract until the summer of 2026, after the club activated a one-year continuation option. However, since the winter of 2024, the footballer almost did not appear on the field, so he decided to change the club.

Sean Longstaff is a Newcastle pupil, for which he spent 171 matches in the Premier League over the last seven years. His experience and versatility in the center of the field have become key factors for Lidz, which is prepared to gain a football in the elite.
