The Lyon football club has drafted the leadership: American investor John Texter, who, through his company Eagle Football Group, had a resignation with a controlling stake. He left all management positions, including membership of the Board of Directors.

The new head of the club was Michelle Kang – a subprive, who since 2023 was part of the Lyon Board and controls the majority in the women’s team. It is also the third largest shareholder among all owners. Now Kang will be responsible for the appeal process for the decision of the DNCG, the financial supervisory authority of the French football – to transfer Lyon to League 2 through debt.

Together with her, the new CEO – Michael Gerlinger, who worked in the structure of Munich Bavaria, joined the leadership vertical. His experience should help the club to stabilize the situation and maintain a place in the elite division of France.

Earlier it was reported that PSG paid the entire amount for Barcol to help Lyon.
