The former defender of Dutch Twente and Vigan Ronny Stama is threatening 13 years in prison for participating in international drug trafficking. About it reports Omroep Brabant.

According to the source, Ronnie and his brother Ruddi, who is currently hiding in the UAE, participated in smuggling more than two tons of cocaine, which is 57 million euros.

It is noted that the state prosecutor is convinced that the brothers played an important role in international drug trafficking, and demanded thirteen years in prison for Ronnie and more than six years in prison for ore. Both have to pay about 1.7 million euros a fine.

In his turn, Ronnie Stam only acknowledged that he was a mediator in smuggling of 20 kilograms of cocaine by mail from Brazil to German Frankfurt in 2020.

Recall that Ronnie Stam in the 2009/10 season in Twente, which was headed by Steve McLaren at that time, became the champion of the Netherlands. Also in Vigan’s T-shirt in the 2012/2013 season he won the England Cup under the guidance of the current head coach of the Portugal Roberto Martinez.

Earlier it was reported that Niggholan was detained in Belgium with charges of drug smuggling.
