The legendary Spanish goalkeeper begins a new career stage in the structure of the Yellow Submarine Academy.

Jose Manuel Rhine has completed his professional game career in May 2025 in Italian Como, and now starts a new page in his football biography – already as a mentor at his native club.
Pepe Rhine joined Vilmarreal at the age of 20 from Barcelona and quickly became a key player of “yellow submarine” from 2002 to 2005. During this time, he won two Cups and helped the team for the first time in history to break into the UEFA Champions League.
After that, a brilliant career was waiting for the Rhine in the leading clubs of Europe – such as Liverpool, Bavaria and Napoli. In 2022, after 17 years, he returned to Vilmarreal and spent two more seasons at the club, bringing the total number of matches for the team to 191.
The season 2022/23 was special, when the Rhina spent its 1000th professional match in a duel against Cadis. In honor of this achievement, the club arranged a solemn ceremony before the starting whistle – with a banner in the stands and gratitude to the legend.
Now Pepe Rhine is ready to pass her experience to the new generation – already from the coaching bench.
