The French club is punished for debt of 2000 euros – they say that they have already been paid.

FIFA applied disciplinary sanctions against Lyon, banning the club to register new players during three transfer windows – until the summer of 2026. The reason was a debt of only 2000 euros due to an unpaid transfer commission.
Despite the fact that Lyon’s management declares the full settlement of the situation and payment of debt, the international football institution has not changed its decision yet. The club is expected to view sanctions.
In the 201024/25 season, Lyon took sixth place in League 1, choosing a chance to participate in the European Cups, namely in the League of Europe.
