At the age of 86, Nel de Roather, a well-known Dutch football coach and functionary, passed away. His death was reported by the Utrecht press service, a club, which was associated with most of his football career, both a player and a trainer.

A native of Utrecht, where Royter opposed the local clubs of DO, Elinkveik and Velox, who subsequently united in FC Utrecht. As a coach, he headed a number of Dutch clubs, including Cambur, Dan Bosch, Vaalweik, Dan Haga and most of all-Utrecht, with which he won the Netherlands Cup in the 1984/85 season.

In 1988, de Roather was an assistant Rinus Michaels on the legendary Euro-1988, where the Netherlands national team defeated the USSR in the finals. Subsequently, he temporarily managed Oranny’s main national team, worked with the U-21 team and was the head coach of the Egypt national team from 1994 to 1995.
