The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine has announced the suspicion of the former captain of the national football national team in assisting the aggressor state. Although the official message is not indicated in the official message, the details of the case indicate that it is about Anatoly Tymoschuk – a former player of Donetsk Shakhtar, German Bavaria and St. Petersburg Zenit.

The investigation found that in September 2024, Tymoschuk participated in a charity match aimed at raising funds to support Russian military units involved in the war against Ukraine. After the game, the T -shirt with the autograph of the national team was auctioned for 700 thousand rubles (approximately 360 thousand hryvnias). The proceeds were transferred to the needs of the 106th Intelligence Battalion of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which later changed its name to a light.

Law enforcement officers qualified the actions of Tymoschuk under Part 1 of Art. 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine-aiding or her aggressor state. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to 12 years.

We will remind, Anatoly Tymoshchuk, a native of Lutsk and a pupil of local Volyn, since 2017 he has been working at the coaching staff of the Russian Zenith. After the start of the full -scale war in 2022, he never publicly condemned the aggression of the Russian Federation. This caused a wave of criticism in Ukraine and a number of sanctions: in the spring of 2022 it was deprived of all sports titles, records and the right to engage in football activities in the territory of Ukraine.

In December 2022, the Verkhovna Rada decided to impose personal sanctions against Tymoschuk. Today, the former captain of the national team has officially become a person involved in criminal proceedings.

Subsequently, Tymoschuk and Kaladze deprived the title of masters of sports.
