UEFA head Alexander Cheferin shared his impressions of the first season of the Champions League in a new format. According to him, updating the structure of the tournament brought great success and provided a bright football sight for fans.

“I am more than satisfied. This season was fantastic. We saw incredible matches, especially on the last day of the group stage. Some grands, such as PSG, were on the verge of departure-there was enough one defeat to stay overboard,” Cheferin said.

He added that even stubborn critics are forced to recognize the benefits of a new format that made the tournament even more stressful and unpredictable.
