Sevilla defender Gonzalo Montiel will soon change clubs and return to his homeland. This was reported by insider Fabrizio Romano.

According to the source, River Plate is interested in the services of the 28-year-old Argentine, who agreed to a contract with the player until the end of 2028.

The amount of the transfer will be about 4.5 million euros. All documents for the transfer are ready.

We will remind, Montiel moved to Sevilla from River Plate in 2021 for 11 million euros. Last season he played in the Premier League for Nottingham Forest on loan.

In the current campaign, Gonzalo has scored nine matches.
