Bournemouth’s Ukrainian central defender Ilya Zabarny refused a transfer to PSG due to the fact that Russian goalkeeper Matvyi Safonov plays in the Paris team. This was stated by L’Equipe journalist Loic Tanzi on the 100% PSG la Tribune podcast.
“Zabarny is a great player, but he’s Ukrainian. PSG has a Russian. Ilya says: ‘If Safonov is in the team, I can’t move.’ Zabarny thinks: “I’m a defender, and he’s a goalkeeper – our positions are very closely connected on the field .
