The head coach of PAOK Rezvan Lucescu was disqualified for four months. This was reported by the press service of the club.

“The disciplinary committee, having become a model of personal attacks, is trying to destroy PAOK, removing the head coach from participation in matches almost until the end of the season.

The decision of the judges is the result of a policy that wants to blame the “problematic” Lucescu for all the troubles of Greek football. The fact that the penalty mentions the name of physiotherapist Athanasios Kapoulas, who was in the locker room at the time of the incident, proves that the judges did not even consider the video, but only AEK’s complaint, which was full of fiction.

We await the review of the decision by the Appeals Committee, especially since the decision informs us about what is acceptable and what is not acceptable during matches. We will respect this decision in our efforts to help the work against violence.

Postscript. AEK have chosen the type of rivalry they want to have with us, which is complaints and extra interference. We hope that from now on they will ensure that no foreign object enters the stadium pitch at any of their home matches,” the club said in a statement.

We will remind, after AEK’s match with PAOK in the 1/4 finals of the Greek Cup (1:0), Lucescu and his assistants ran out of the club bus after provocations by the opponent’s fans and tried to fight with them – the police intervened.

We should also add that, in addition to the disqualification, Lucescu and his assistants were fined 15,000 euros, and PAOK must pay another 30,000 euros.

After 16 rounds, PAOK are second in the Greek Super League under the leadership of Mircea Lucescu’s son, one point behind Olympiakos.
