Napoli’s official website reports that the club has terminated the contract with defender Mario Rui.
The 33-year-old Portuguese was excluded from the application for the season in Serie A. Rui was known to have rejected several transfer offers. After the elimination, he trained at the base separately from the main team.
This season, the experienced performer under Antonio Conte has not played a single match on the field.
In total, Rui played 227 games for Napoli, scoring three goals and providing 26 assists.
