Real Sociedad - Dynamo Kyiv, FC Dynamo Kyiv

Real Sociedad – Dynamo Kyiv, FC Dynamo Kyiv December 20, 2024, 07:34

This week, the matches of the sixth round of the main stage of the Conference League took place.

There are no Ukrainian teams in this tournament, so the opponents had a chance to take points and break away from the “blue and yellow”.

Thus, Ukraine remained on 23rd place in the table of UEFA coefficientsbut Cyprus and Sweden increased the lead.

Let’s add that starting from the 16th position, the quota for teams in the European Cups is reduced to four, instead of five.

As a reminder, in the 2024/25 season, Ukraine will have five representatives in the European Cups: two — in the Champions League (one — in the second qualifying round, one — in the play-off round), one — in the Europa League (in the third qualifying round) and two in the Conference League (in the second qualifying round).

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine lost the right to five teams in European Cups.

Association club coefficients are based on the results of all association clubs in the Champions League and Europa League over the last five seasons. The rankings determine the number of places for each association (country) in future UEFA club competitions.

1. Each team receives two points for a win and one point for a draw (the points scored in the qualification and playoff rounds are divided in half).

2. Clubs that progress to the Round of 16, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals of the Champions League or Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals of the Europa League are awarded one additional point for each round.

3. In addition, four points are awarded for participation in the UEFA Champions League group stage and another four points for qualifying for the playoffs.

Calculation of the coefficient

The coefficient is the sum of the average value for the current season (the total number of points scored divided by the number of clubs of the association participating in the European Cup season) and the results of the previous four seasons. If two associations have the same coefficient, the country with the highest coefficient in the last season will be ranked higher.

Ratings are updated after each round of club competitions under the auspices of UEFA.
