Roma striker Artem Dovbyk did not appear in the starting line-up of the Ukrainian national team against Albania (2:1) in the League of Nations match by mutual agreement with Roma’s coaching staff. This was reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

According to the source, the coaching staff of the Wolves, led by Claudio Ranieri, asked Serhii Rebrov not to release the 27-year-old Ukrainian in the main squad, so that he would get additional rest due to discomfort in his knee.

In the match against the Albanians, Dovbyk appeared on the field in the 76th minute, replacing Roman Yaremchuk, who scored a goal.

We should also note that due to injury in the past matches of the national team, another forward of the “blue and yellow” Vladyslav Vanat from Dynamo Kyiv was unable to participate.

The Italian newspaper adds that Dovbyk should be ready to play against Napoli in Serie A. The match with “Neapolitans” will take place on Sunday, November 24.

This season, Dovbyk played 15 matches in which he scored six goals and provided one assist.
