The defender of the national team of Ukraine, Oleksiy Sych, commented on his debut challenge to the ranks of the national team.

“I am very emotionally uplifted. My wife and I were watching some TV series, and there was a late call. Our general director called me and congratulated me with a call to the national team. The emotions were… I was surprised and happy. This is a new stage of my life. I be- I’m ready to go to the national team camp at any moment. It’s a big surprise and I’m very glad to be here.

I didn’t believe it right away. But when the coach called and the others started congratulating, then I realized that it was true. Like Nazarenko, I didn’t drop my phone, but my hands were shaking. The first challenge is cool.

I left Lviv at 10 in the morning and arrived at the hotel in Turkey at one or two in the morning. But the road is small things. The main thing is that I am here. The team includes most of the guys I already know from the Olympic team and the U-21 team. It is clear that there are senior partners with whom I am not familiar at all. It’s going to be interesting and I’m really looking forward to it.

Among those with whom I am familiar, Nazarenko and Brazhko have already written to me. We are in touch with them. First of all, I want the team to win these two matches. This is the main thing, and if there is an opportunity, I want to help the national team on the field,” said Oleksiy Sych.

We will remind you that in November, the Ukrainian national team will play two away matches in Group B1 of the 2024/2025 League of Nations. On the 16th, in the 5th round, the blue-yellows will face Georgia in Batumi at the Adjara Bet Arena, and on the 19th, in the 6th round, they will play against Albania in Tirana at the Air Albania Stadium.

This season, Oleksiy Sych played 12 matches for Rukh and provided 3 assists.
