The 39-year-old Frenchman of Senegalese origin made a corresponding statement in his social networks.
Gomis’ last club was Kawasaki in Japan’s top division.

During his professional career Bafetimbi Gomis played for Saint-Etienne, Troyes, Lyon, Swansea, Marseille, Galatasaray, Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal and Japan’s Kawasaki, making a total of 783 appearances at club level, scoring 347 goals and providing 75 assists.
The attacker made his debut for the French national team in 2008 and played 12 matches in its shirt, in which he scored three assists.
