After the end of the game, the head coach of “Seamen” Oleksandr Babich commented on the performance of his own team.
“We lost the match, emotions are negative. We faced our direct competitor and, of course, the plan of the first half worked somewhere. We gave the initiative and tried to catch on counterattacks.
I want to say about our players. While there is no quality, defense must be played reliably and simply. The penalty kick, which was implemented by the Carpathians – in this situation, it should have been played more easily and it would not have happened.
After conceding a goal, we created chances near the opponent’s goal. Again, there was not enough quality to deliver the ball into the penalty area and finish the attack.
Calmness and composure were not enough. We have a lot to work on. Especially in the attack, there is a lot of work.
We are looking for the optimal composition. After the second match, we reorganized a little, transferred Luka Latsabidze to the central zone, returned Udod to the center of defense after an injury. We are looking for the best option.
We need more time for the players to understand each other better. A match like today will give us more information to analyze than a match against Ingulets.
There was no point in making substitutions in the first half. The task was a little different. In the second half, we planned to release players at the 60th minute. Released four attacking footballers who can create a moment.
We did not manage to implement what we had planned. If they had scored at least one goal, it would have been a 1:1 draw and there would have been completely different emotions. And then the replacements would be used 100% successfully. We have a lot to work on.
