Carlo Acholotti became the first European coach to head the Brazil national team on its own.
The specialist has become the first Italian coach since Cesare Maldini, who headed the South American team.
Maldini headed the Paraguay national team, which has already overcome the 2002 World Cup. Then he became the oldest coach of the tournament (70 years).
At the tournament, Paraguay successfully overcame the group stage and reached the 1/8 finals, where he met with Germany. Unfortunately for Maldini, the Bundestim could not go. Oliver Neyville scored a goal in the 89th minute.
