The Stranger Things star was raised in Bournemouth before relocating to Orlando, Florida at age eight, not long before her acting career took off.
The actress and her husband Jake Bon Jovi now live on a farm in rural Georgia where they manage an animal rescue.
Millie has given fans a glimpse of her countryside life on Instagram, sharing snaps with some of the animals on the farm which reportedly include donkeys, goats, horses and sheep.
Although Millie ‘barely checks her phone and largely delegates social media duties’, she is aware of the trad wife content on social media which overly romanticizes domestic labour and a return to ‘simpler times’.
‘I’m not doing it for the aesthetic,’ she told Vanity Fair. ‘I’m doing it because I love it. There are maybe some trad wives out there doing it because it seems wholesome, but it is not.
‘If you’re not picking up horse s**t or washing a cow with your bare hands, then that life is not made for you. At all.’
Although Millie spends most of her time in America nowadays, she has made some unlikely friends when she does get back to England.
The actress formed an unlikely friendship with former TOWIE star and radio presenter Mark Wright and his sisters.
Millie and Mark initially met on US TV show EXTRA in October 2017, with Mark later introducing her to his sisters Natalya and Jess, and his wife, Michelle Keegan.
Speaking to The Sunday Times, she explained: ‘I’m a huge fan of TOWIE and I was doing press in LA, saw him [Mark] and introduced myself.
‘He told me he was a fan of my work too and our families bonded. Now we’re friends and go on family vacations together all the time.’
Millie even revealed they treated to her a night at the iconic Essex spot Sheesh, ‘plenty of times’.
In 2019, Millie enjoyed a sun-drenched getaway to Turks And Caicos with Natalya and Jess.
The trio looked as though they had a whale of a time as they sunbathed in a variety of bikinis and indulged in a little horseriding, posting the snaps on Instagram.
Talking about the unlikely friendship with the Stranger Things star, Jess told MailOnline at the time: ‘We’re family friends, we always catch up and go out for dinner!’
Mark and Michelle became parents themselves in March when they welcomed their daughter Palma.
Millie and Jake announced the adoption in an Instagram post which read: ‘This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption.
‘We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. And then there were three. Love, Millie and Jake Bongiovi.’
Millie has previously spoken of her desire to be a young mother, noting her own mother Kelly had her first child – Millie’s sister Paige – at 21.
‘This has been my thing since before I met Jake. My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19,’ she said on the Smartless podcast in March.
‘I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me. Of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family for me personally.’
Millie also told how Jake – who is the son of rock star Jon Bon Jovi – told her they couldn’t have children until they were married.
‘So that was his thing,’ she explained. ‘And my thing was, I really want a family. I really want a big family. I’m one of four. He’s one of four. So, it is definitely in our future.
‘And so that is kind of what we stand by, Jake and I. The energy in our house is the door is always open.
‘We are always going to [want] to start a family, and it doesn’t matter in what way or when, but it will happen for sure.’
Those comments came a few weeks after she had opened up to Vanity Fair in February about how she and Bongiovi, who she met through mutual friends, were ‘pretty united’ on major topics before their marriage.
‘We talked about our political views, what kind of family we want to build, the kind of home we want to live in, the kind of relationship we’re looking for, the kind of careers we want,’ she said.
