Scientists noted that the presence of animals is the best confirmation that the reserve is recovering.

The director of the reserve, Denys Nesterov, told about it. “In winter, the territory of the Chernobyl reserve is generous for special encounters: moose, Przewalski’s horses, foxes, wolves, deer. The snow reveals what is usually hidden from prying eyes and allows you to see the life of wildlife without embellishments,” Nesterov wrote on Facebook.

He published the corresponding photos, in which you can see all the animals he names. In particular, rare horses, moose, deer, and foxes “walk” through snowy thickets and feel comfortable in the exclusion zone.

According to the director, for him the presence of animals is the best confirmation that the reserve “lives, breathes and recovers”.

“Every such meeting (with an animal – UNIAN) is a reminder of what we work for every day,” Nesterov stressed.

Other news about the Chernobyl reserveWe will remind you that the other day, while patrolling the territory of the Chornobyl reserve, specialists of the Korogod nature protection research department, which is located in the southwestern part of the exclusion zone, encountered a herd of wild cows. Currently, the herd has 12 heads, including 6 adult cows and 2 calves. Despite the frost, deep snow and a limited fodder base, the animals are in good physical condition. The researchers found that four wolves approached the herd almost closely at night, but the animals were not so defenseless. One of the bulls even followed the wolf’s tracks, apparently to demonstrate his strength.
