Friends of the star told Radar Online that the 53-year-old actress fears their union will end in another “conscious divorce,” the term Paltrow famously used for her split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin in 2014.
According to insiders, there is a noticeable tension in the marriage, which has been going on for seven years. Paltrow is now actively returning to her acting career, while Felchak is spending more and more time in Los Angeles working on new projects:
“There’s definitely a different energy between them now. They’re spending more time apart and the easy closeness they once had is gone. Gwyneth is constantly reinventing herself – it’s part of who she is – but Brad seems to be trying to keep up.”
Rumors about the problems intensified after the release of an unauthorized biography of the actress from the writer Amy Odell, where there were many frank details from her past. Sources say Felchak was very uncomfortable with the details of her past affairs.
“Brad has always been proud of all that Gwyneth has achieved, but the book really confused him. He’s pretty withdrawn and it was frustrating to see these old stories resurface. They had a falling out over it and the tension hasn’t completely gone away,” the source said.

Insiders say that Felchak was unpleasantly surprised to learn about the candid scenes of the actress in the new film:
“Brad had nothing to do with the role – it came as a surprise to him. It’s not jealousy, but he feels left out of the choices that shape their lives. He’s always supported Gwyneth’s independence, but there’s a fine line between giving space and feeling left out.”
