“Too early”: Ukrainian stars mourn Green Gray soloist Andrii Yatsenko

photo by UNIANThe singer passed away at the age of 55 / photo UNIANToday, representatives of Ukrainian show business react with shock to the death of the leader of the famous band Green Gray Andrii “Diesel” Yatsenko.

UNIAN collects the reactions of other performers and people involved in the scene who knew Andrii personally or grew up with his work.

Ukrainian singer and songwriter Artem Pyvovarov published on his Instagram account a fragment of their performance at the music festival “MRPL City” in 2018:

“You were a true musician, a sincere person… I will always remember your advice, our jams in and out of the studio. You made a great contribution to the development of Ukrainian music and will remain in people’s memories and playlists. RIP, friend…”.

“Diesel went to another world… One of the vivid symbols of how everything started back then, in the 90s… Rest in peace,” added the musician.

“He also held many jams, gathering rock musicians around him. And in 2022, standing up for the defense of Ukraine, he sold almost everything valuable to his memory, including the property rights to the song “Emigrant” to hold a fundraiser for his battalion. 55? He passed away too early. He had many plans. It’s hard to believe… It’s a shame.”
