Frame from the movie “Quir” / ARTHOUSE TRAFFIC PhotoUkrainian moviegoers will still be able to look at the large screens of the provocative melodrama “Queer” (Queer) from the Italian director Luke Guadanyino (“Name me with your name”, “Suspira”, “completely and completely”, “rivals”).
According to the Arthouse Traffic Film Company press service, the Ukrainian rental, filmed by the scandalous novel of the American writer William Burrouse in 1953, will be released on April 24, 2025.
The film takes place in the early 1950s in Mexico City, where the war veteran and the American expatriate William Lee now live, interrupting temporary work. Wandering out city clubs, desperately lonely, opium -dependent admires much younger than seafarer Judzhin Allerton. Where will this trip go?
The lead roles in the film were played by Daniel Craig (James Bond franchisees, Knives Nepa) and Drew Starky (TV series External Blinds).
The musical accompaniment of the tape worked by Trentsonor (a member of the band Nine Inch Nails) and the composer Attikus Ross (“Social Network”, “Soul”), and the visual component was corresponded to the permanent operator Luke Guadagnino – Saiobhu Mukdipro, who had been working on the movie “.
The film’s world premiere took place at the Venice Film Festival in September 2024, and later it was released in the US and several other countries.
Currently, an IMDB movie rating is 6.4 out of 10 points, while on Rotten Tomatoes, it received 77% approval from Critics Certified Freshness and 65% of viewers. At the same time, at Metacritic, movie experts rated it at 72 out of 100 points (corresponds to the characteristics of “In general positive reviews”), and a wide audience – 5.7 out of 10 points (corresponds to the characteristics “Mixed or average reviews”).
