Dmytro Zhmailo, co-founder and executive director of the Ukrainian Center for Security and Cooperation, notes that the situation in Pokrovsk itself in the Donetsk region is difficult, the Russian occupiers have increased the number of their troops near the city, but it cannot be said that they have gained a foothold anywhere in the city. According to him, the Russians’ statement that 31 Ukrainian battalions are surrounded in the Pokrovsk region is nonsense.
Zhmailo reported that the Russians had increased the number of their forces there, and that there were 6-10 times more Russians than soldiers of the Defense Forces.
