The nominees for the “Oscar” award have been named: the Ukrainian film “Porcelain War” is on the list

The nominees for the film award were named / photo ua.depositphotos.comToday, the candidates for the 97th annual “Oscar” award ceremony became known. The Academy of Cinematographic Arts presented the shortlist.

This year’s top contenders include Netflix’s controversial Emilia Perez, Brady Corbett’s massive epic The Brutalist, and Pope drama Conclave, starring Ralph Fiennes.

The award ceremony will take place on March 2. Then we will know the winners in all nominations.

Interestingly, the musical “Emilia Perez” (13 nominations) turned out to be the leader in the number of nominations. According to the plot, Rita is a lawyer who feels out of place at work. Her company loves big money, so it often helps criminals avoid responsibility. But one day the heroine receives an unexpected offer. She has to help the leader of the drug cartel to leave the criminal world and implement an escape plan: becoming a woman, as he always dreamed of being.
