If the leak is confirmed, this year’s “pros” will receive one of the most noticeable updates to the appearance of the iPhone since the iPhone X. Yes, the Face ID sensors will be hidden under the display, and the front camera will be moved to the upper left corner.
At the same time, the very concept of Dynamic Island will be preserved, but in the form of a software interface element without a “hole” in the screen. By the way, Android manufacturers have long been using a compact cutout in the screen purely for the camera.
Changes are also expected on the back panel. The leak indicates the appearance of the main camera with a variable aperture. Such a mechanism will allow you to control the amount of light falling on the matrix – just like on professional cameras. At the same time, the insider notes that this feature may remain exclusive to the 18 Pro Max version.
Among other possible innovations, an improved Camera Control button is mentioned, where instead of a touch response, sensitivity to pressing will appear. The new A20 Pro processor will be responsible for performance, and the proprietary Apple C2 modem will be responsible for communication.
Finally, Apple is experimenting with new body colors – burgundy, brown and purple. Although only one will probably reach the release.
The official announcement of the iPhone 18 Pro is traditionally expected in September 2026, as with previous iPhone generations. However, rumors also hint at possible changes in the launch schedule: the basic iPhone 18 could be released half a year later than the Pro versions.
It was previously reported that one of the versions of the iPhone 18 Pro may receive a matte-transparent design in the area of the magnetic ring – “so that the user can look inside the smartphone.”
