The first trailer for the movie “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay” was released / UNIAN collage, YouTube screenshotsLionsgate has released the first trailer for the continuation of the cult saga “Hunger Games”. The premiere of the film “Dawn before the Harvest” will take place exactly one year later – in November 2026.
According to Variety, the science fiction plot is based on the 2025 book of the same name and takes place 24 years before the events of the first part with Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson. The main character of this film will be young Haymitch Abernathy, who became a participant in the 50’s Hunger Games.
It was these Games that became the second quarterly festival held every 25 years, so the rules change a bit. This time, each district of Panem must send twice as many contestants. So, as many as 48 teenagers, including Heymitch, will take part in the deadly competition.
The trailer from Lionsgate also gives a first look at Joseph Zada, who plays the title role. Woody Harrelson played Haymitch in previous films.
In general, the cast of “Hunger Games: Dawn of the Harvest”. In addition to 20-year-old Zada, the film stars Elle Fanning as a younger version of Effie Trinket, Ralph Fiennes as President Coriolan Snow, Kieran Culkin as TV host Caesar Flickerman and Jesse Plemons, who played a younger version of Plutarch Heavensby. Calvin Harrison Jr., Glenn Close, Maya Hawke, McKenna Grace and others will also appear on the screen.
The director was the invariable creator of “Hunger Games” Francis Lawrence, the screenplay was written by Billy Ray.
The first footage from the filming of the third part of the adventure film “Jumanji 3” has also appeared.
