iPhone Fold will receive a display with an extremely unusual aspect ratio / photo iPhone-TickerAt the beginning of December, the iPhone-ticker resource published drawings and the first rendering of a complex iPhone from Apple. Now “live” photos of the phone have appeared on the network. Apparently, these are high-quality mockups that reflect the actual design of the device.
Photos confirm that when folded, the iPhone Fold will be almost square and very compact, comparable to the iPhone mini. And when unfolded, it will resemble the iPad mini in size and screen ratio.
It was also confirmed that Apple solved the main technical issue of all complex smartphones – the visible seam between the screens. The company has brought the iPhone Fold screen to a state in which there is no visible line at all at the fold.
iPhone Fold / photo by Ice UniverseIt was previously reported that the diagonal of the external iPhone-folding screen will be 5.49″ with a resolution of 2088×1422 and a ratio of 1.49:1. The internal screen, which can be expanded, will receive a diagonal of 7.76″ with a resolution of 2713×1920 and an even more square ratio of 1.43:1.
When unfolded, the thickness of Apple’s folding smartphone will be 4.8 mm, which is even less than the iPhone Air (5.6 mm), but more than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (4.2 mm).
iPhone Fold / photo by Ice UniverseIf the information is confirmed, the device will be equipped with four cameras: frontal, internal and two main ones. Instead of Face ID, it will have Touch ID in the side button, and instead of a physical tray for the “seven” – eSIM technology.
According to various estimates, the device could cost between $2,000 and $2,400 – probably closer to the upper end. It is noticeably more expensive than the main competitors in this form factor. The release of the first iPhone with a flexible screen is planned for the fall of 2026.
