Charles Dumont passed away at the age of 95.
The tragic news was reported by Deadline. It became known that the cause of the celebrity’s death was an illness with which Charles had been fighting for many years. However, insiders did not reveal what exactly this disease was.
Dumont was interested in music from childhood and was very creative. He liked jazz. He first studied trumpet at the Toulouse Conservatory of Music in France. However, Charles fell ill and underwent a complex operation on his tonsils, which forced him to stop playing the instrument.
After that, the future composer became interested in playing the piano and started writing his first songs. In the 1950s, the celebrity continued to create music, but it did not bring him a stable income. To make ends meet, he took on odd jobs.
During this period, he met the poet and songwriter Michel Walker, with whom in 1956 he created the legendary song “Non, je ne regrette rien” for Piaf. Later, the composer wrote about 30 more compositions for her, but their collaboration ended due to the early death of the singer in 1963 at the age of 47.
During his career he worked with such stars as Dalida, Tino Rossi, Jacques Brel and Barbra Streisand. His songs were heard in famous films and series, including “Traffic”, “Dreamers”, “Inception” and “Intolerable Cruelty”.
We will remind you that the former soloist of the band “Na-na” Volodymyr Lyovkin died earlier. The cause of death was cancer.
