The hryvnia to euro exchange rate is set at UAH 49.51/euro.
At the interbank, the dollar exchange rate is set at UAH 42.45/42.48/dollar. / UNIAN collage, UNIAN photo, Reuters photoOn Tuesday, January 6, the National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rate of the dollar to the hryvnia at the level of 42.42 hryvnias per dollar, thus the Ukrainian currency weakened by 25 kopecks.
According to data on the regulator’s website, the hryvnia, in turn, strengthened its position against the euro: the official rate of the European currency for Tuesday was set at 49.51 hryvnias for one euro, i.e. the hryvnia strengthened by 4 kopecks.
On the interbank foreign exchange market of Ukraine, by 4:00 p.m., hryvnia to dollar quotes were set at 42.45/42.48 hryvnias/dollar, and the euro – 49.55/49.57 hryvnias/euro.
Exchange rates in Ukraine – the latest newsOn January 5, the dollar to hryvnia rate in “PrivatBank” increased by 5 kopecks to 42.45 hryvnias per dollar, and the euro rate fell by 10 kopecks to 49.85 hryvnias to the euro. You can sell American currency in the bank at the rate of 41.85 hryvnias, and euros at the rate of 48.85 hryvnias per unit of foreign currency.
The dollar opened the first full trading week of 2026 by climbing to multi-week highs against a number of currencies after a weak December 2025. The dollar index rose for the fifth day in a row – by 0.25% at the peak, to the highest level since December 10. To a large extent, this was a consequence of the weakness of the euro, which fell by 0.31% to $1.168, the lowest since the same date.
