The developers of The Blood of Dawnwalker showed gameplay / Photo – Rebel WolvesRebel Wolves, founded by CD Projekt RED natives, has released a gameplay video of The Blood of Dawnwalker. The video shows a full-fledged quest, research mechanics, combat, the variability of tasks and the key feature of the project: different gameplay during the day and at night.
At the beginning of the trailer, a daytime scenario is shown. The main character, the vampire Cohen, investigates a series of attacks, interrogates NPCs and uses his counterpart “witch sense” – the same system of clues and evidence that reminds of “The Witcher 3”.
Cohen follows the tracks to the vampire’s lair and engages in battle. The mechanics of the battles are based on clear inclinations and the choice of direction for the attack, a bit reminiscent of the fighting game from the “Gothic” series. The set of skills during the day is limited to the sword and “hexes” – ritual abilities, which include, for example, spells for talking to the dead.
However, after darkness falls, completely different tools open up for Cohen: send, move through walls, teleport in the style of Dishonored. The player can get to the cathedral from the roof, bypassing the combat path, story scenes and even one of the potential bosses.
The time in the game moves according to key events, not at a real pace, so the progression is built around decisions, not a timer. According to Rebel Wolves, most quests will have separate routes for day and night gameplay.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is scheduled for release in 2026, with no exact date yet. The game will be available on PC, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series.
We previously reported that the developers of The Blood of Dawnwalker have revealed how long it will take to complete their game. The small Rebel Wolves team understands its capabilities and doesn’t want to make a huge play.
