Previously, Digital Edition was supplied with a 1 TB drive, now only 825 GB is available, all of which at the same price. Blogger Austin Evans drew attention to this, who compared both versions in a new video.
He noted that the body is now completely matte, earlier the upper part of the white block and the central black insert were glossy: “I like it. The gloss is scratching quickly and collecting dirt. The matte version looks easier but practical,” Evans said.
The new model became lighter by about 120 grams, and the heat sink inside is now made of thinner metal. Despite this, energy and heating indicators in both versions are the same: “This is a good engineering – to improve design without loss of productivity. But the whole sense is destroyed when 27% of SSD is removed.”
According to him, Sony has cheaper production, but there are no benefits for buyers – the amount of memory was reduced, and prices for the console continue to rise.
