According to the musician, the song was born from simple conversations, thoughts and personal stories of the fighters of the brigade.
The author and performer of the hit song “I’m holding the landing” wrote a song for the “royal infantry” of the 24th OMBr / UNIAN collage, screenshotsThe “Cultural Forces” platform presented the fifth episode of the musical military project “Front Studio”, in which military units open the door for musicians to create battle songs.
This time, the famous Ukrainian country singer Sasha Boole paid a visit to the soldiers of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo and wrote a song for them.
“This is the legendary “royal infantry” with experience of peacekeeping missions in Iraq and Kosovo. Since 2014, the brigade has been fighting in the hottest directions, its fighters were the first to survive a vile shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation near Zelenopilly and were the first to crush the “little green men” near Georgievka. Since 2022, the brigade has been defending Ukraine in the eastern direction, liberated the right-bank Kherson region was held by Bakhmut and New York. The motto of the brigade is “Milites Regum”, from Latin – “King’s infantry”, – reported in “Cultural forces”.
It is noted. that Sasha Boole did everything in order to feel the spirit, nerve, atmosphere, peculiarities that exist in the brigade, to immerse himself in the emotional climate and life of the unit – interviews and simple communication with infantrymen, tankers, UAV operators in the brigade, participation in training, shooting from the trenches.
“The 24th is mainly an infantry brigade, so I visited the infantrymen. The first impression is that they are tired, but very stable people. They have just left their positions and know that eventually they will have to return there. And at the same time – with humor, very soulful, hospitable, open. In these conversations, it is clearly felt: the infantry is probably the most difficult role in the army. That is why this song is exactly about them. About the infantryman as the main character – a somewhat tired, sad-cheerful soldier who understands that it will not be easy, but knows that the war will end someday. And the thought of returning home, to loved ones, is what keeps and warms,” Sasha Boole shared his impressions of the “royal infantry”.
According to him, the song was born from simple conversations, thoughts and personal stories of the fighters of the brigade, which became its main content and mood.
