Following Friday’s release of her 12th LP, The Life of A Showgirl, the 35-year-old singer took to social media on Saturday to announce the special editions.
In an Instagram post shared with her 282 million followers, Taylor wrote, ‘File this under “save your best for the finale”…’
She added, ‘I think my favorite moments from the tour were the acoustic surprises. So I went back into the studio with Max and Shellback to record acoustic/unplugged versions of a few of the Showgirl songs with brand new vocals and production!’
The longtime performer noted elsewhere, ‘Four limited CD releases each including two acoustic bonus tracks on my site now for 24 hours while supplies last.’
And she credited the album producers, referring to herself in third person: ‘Max Martin, Shellback and Taylor Swift.’
Taylor listed the detailed titles of each new album version in the caption, beginning, ‘Cannot WAIT for you to hear: Life Is A Song Acoustic Version with “Opalite (Life Is A Song Acoustic Version)” and “Ruin the Friendship (My Advice Version).”’
She continued, ‘Dressing Room Rehearsal Version with “Wi$h Li$t (Settled Down Acoustic Version)” and “The Life of a Showgirl (Dressing Room Rehearsal Acoustic Version)”
‘Alone In My Tower Acoustic Version with “The Fate of Ophelia (Alone In My Tower Acoustic Version)” and “Eldest Daughter (Now You’re Home Acoustic Version).”’
And finally, ‘So Glamorous Cabaret Version with “Elizabeth Taylor (So Glamorous Cabaret Version)” and Elizabeth Taylor (Original Songwriting Voice Memo).’
Each iteration is complete with unique artwork, showing the entertainer in different elaborate costumes and themes.
The Life Is A Song edition shows the hitmaker in a beaded lavender mini dress with back cutouts as she tinkers with a miniature turquoise toy piano.
Dressing Room Rehearsal features Taylor sporting a rare platinum blonde bob while clad in a bedazzled cranberry-colored gown.
On the Alone in My Tower cover, she wears a simple and modest white dress with her long blonde hair spilling over her chest.
And So Glamorous depicts the typically bubbly pop star in a vampy dark wig with ropes draped over her body.
Taylor’s album release coincides with a behind-the-scenes movie playing exclusively in AMC theaters from October 3-5.
The 89-minute feature, called The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, raked in $15.8 million in earnings on Friday from 3,702 locations.
With its nearly $16M in revenue from Friday, the picture is poised to reach between $25 million and $30 million after the full weekend.
Announced just two weeks before its premiere, ticket prices for the limited release are just $12.
The movie includes a music video, behind-the-scenes footage and lyric videos for Taylor’s new album.
Via social media, she promoted the screening by telling the Swifties that dancing is ‘optional but very much encouraged.’
