Is it a Bird? Is it a Plane? No, it’s former Superman Dean Cain attempting to fly over a wall while training for ICE.

Last month the 59-year-old caused a stir after announcing he was joining the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement to ‘help save America’.

The actor – born Dean George Tanaka – rose to fame in the 1990s when playing Superman and his alter ego Clark Kent in the TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

However he faced massive backlash after announcing his latest career move, which he said would ‘help save America and remove the worst of the worst from America’s streets’.

The criticisms came thick and fast, with many pointing out the irony of the fact his biological father was of Japanese descent and his grandparents were immigrants themselves.

A few weeks on he’s been mocked after being filmed for a Fox News segment in which he appears to struggle through a training course at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Georgia.

However many poked fun at the clips (Picture: Fox News) In the interview, Cain explained: ‘People don’t realise, they think that ICE is this horrible, nefarious group and they’re not – they’re phenomenal people.’

‘There’s been way more support than the trolls and haters.’

Footage then showed him making his way through an obstacle course – slowly making his way over a wall and crawling through a concrete tunnel, as well as firing guns at a shooting range.

However, many didn’t miss their chance to take aim at him after watching his efforts.

‘Was the video slowed down?’ user Havoc questioned on X.

‘Is this a joke?’ Marina shared.

‘It’s kinda like watching a dog agility show but with a senior dog near death that attempts the course to the sympathetic applause from the audience,’ Brian quipped.

He shocked many when announcing his latest career move (Picture: Dean Cain/ X) ‘Can you crawl through a tube, climb over a toddler gate and squeeze through an opening big enough for a couch? If so, you may be qualified to join ICE!’ Hal added.

‘If I ever have to be pursued by law enforcement, let it be this man,’ Donovan begged.

Meanwhile others called it ‘embarrassing’ and there was ‘nothing Superman about this’.

If you want to make fun of me for that, go ahead.’

He went on to claim ICE officers were of ‘every race and ethnicity’ and that more than 100,000 had signed up to the agency.

When originally announcing he’d joined ICE Cain, who is also on the board of directors of the National Rifle Association of America, also encouraged others to sign up too, pushing how they could ‘earn lots of great benefits and pay’.

In recent months, ICE has been undertaking immigration raids across the US, with directives to aim for a minimum of 3,000 arrests a day.

The raids – which also sparked mass protests across the country – have seen undocumented people, residents with protected legal status, and even American citizens pulled off the streets and held in custody or deported.

Many of those taken into custody have no past offenses.
