Subnautica 2 developers showed the first gameplay / photo – Unknown WorldsSubnautica 2 developers shared fresh details about the project in the new Devlose, where they showed gameplay and told about key changes in the gameplay.
The main innovation is the full support of the cooperative up to four people. Players will be able to build bases together, repair equipment and explore underwater depths. The developers emphasize that despite the new format, the spirit of a single study will remain an important part of the game.
Particular attention is paid to new survival mechanics. Players will now be able to “pump” their body, absorbing the genetic materials found in the depths of the ocean. This system should add variability to pumping and access to new abilities. Judging by the Devlology, the process will be accompanied by the recommendations of the SI assistant, which pushes to experiments without a full security guarantee.
In the visual part of Subnaautica 2, the unreal Engine driving is relied, which allows you to create more sophisticated biomes and processed underwater landscapes. The developers mentioned the Observatory and Cemetery zones.
The testing process is still early, and the team continues to actively refine the project. Special efforts are aimed at optimizing the work in the cooperative and the balance of the research mechanic so that the joint game does not destroy the atmosphere of immersion and single survival.
A full -fledged release is to wait early: Subnautica 2 is preparing to get out early by the end of the year. By this point, the developers plan to release a few more similar devologs to show the progress of the project development and collect feedback from players.
