The Russian Federation has repeatedly emphasized that new aircraft are being put into operation and that further modernization is underway.
Russia has shown its new Su-57 fighters / wikipedia.orgThe Russian Federation is trying to revive interest in foreign orders for its Su-57 fighters. In particular, the aggressor country showed a new promotional video, in which you can see the internal compartments for weapons of the aircraft and air-to-air missiles on the eve of the Dubai Airshow 2025, Defense Blog writes.
The video was published by the United Aircraft Corporation, which is part of the Rostec state defense conglomerate, and also demonstrates the hidden weapons compartments of the Su-57 Felon fighter jet. This is a characteristic feature of aircraft that are built using stealth technology.
Rostec stated that the new Su-57s have already entered service, and the modernized versions will receive updated weapons systems and engines.
“The location of the internal weapons bays shown in the footage reflects a design approach used in other fifth-generation fighters, where missiles and precision weapons are placed inside the fuselage to reduce radar visibility. The promotional video emphasizes this feature, showing the aircraft maneuvering with the weapons bay doors partially open and missiles visible,” the Defense Blog added.
In public statements, Rostec describes the aircraft as being put into service on a wider scale and undergoing phased modernization. The company also emphasized that the plane will receive “updated weapon systems and engines.”
Information about potential Su-57 export plans also appeared online.
“A recently released document, which is said to come from the Russian state defense conglomerate Rostec, contains information on prices, delivery schedules and export plans for modern Sukhoi fighter jets destined for several foreign customers. The document lists Iran, Algeria and Ethiopia among the countries in question,” the publication noted.
It is noted that such documents were published on October 3 by the hacker group Black Mirror, which claims to have gained access to more than 300 internal documents from Rostec systems.
According to the group, the tranche includes correspondence, presentations and export contracts that describe plans for defense cooperation, logistical arrangements aimed at circumventing sanctions, and technical documentation related to supplies.
“The authenticity of the leaked materials has not been independently verified. However, analysts have noted that their content is closely consistent with earlier reports of negotiations involving Moscow and several foreign defense ministries. The files also appear to be consistent with earlier reports that Russia continues to seek export customers for modern fighter jets, even as its domestic industry comes under pressure from the needs of the ongoing war,” Defense Blog clarified.
The documents also include schedules, internal memoranda, and coordination between agencies traditionally responsible for state export planning.
“Both the promotional video and the alleged export documents highlight Russia’s attempts to maintain the Su-57 program as the flagship of its aerospace industry. Although the aircraft is advertised as a fifth-generation platform, its production and deployment scale remain limited, and the aircraft has yet to appear in large operational formations. Russia has repeatedly emphasized that new aircraft are entering service and that further modernization is underway,” the article concluded.
Other gun newsEarlier, an officer of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR MO) with the call sign “Azimut” explained how the approaches of Ukraine and Russia to the production of drones differ. According to him, when Moscow bets on the creation of one sample and its scaling, Ukraine seeks to locally manufacture dozens of different drones.
“They (the Russians – UNIAN) hone one or the other sample to a working condition and then scale it to the maximum by the entire military-industrial complex. That is, at the moment when there will be 15 small manufacturers in Ukraine creating and supplying 15 different types of drones, then in Russia there will be two that will be scaled to the entire system,” Azimut noted.
Independent also told what “Flamingo” was made of. According to journalists, the FP-5 “Flamingo” missile is equipped with a missile and a Soviet-era turbofan jet engine bolted to it, some of these engines were even found in landfills.
