Claudia and Tess also commented on the “lovely new desk” the judges have this seriesBut this year’s contestants aren’t the only thing viewers of the show are talking about.
They noticed almost immediately that the judging panel looks a little different from last year.
In 2024 the four Strictly judges – Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke – each had their own desk to sit at.
There was a slight gap between each table, giving the judges a bit of space.
It comes after the pandemic caused a major change to the judging panel’s desk where prominent dividers were placed between them.
It was also the beginning of separate desks, as back in 2019 pre-pandemic the judges all shared one long table.
Joking about the matter on tonight’s show, Craig made a reference to the old perspex screens.
“I much prefer it with the two inch gap and the perspex screens,” he jested, as Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly pointed out the lovely new desk on the show.
Fans on Twitter were happy to see the return of a full desk, as it’s been so long since the show last had one.
“WELCOME BACK ONE LONG JUDGES DESK,” commented one user in all caps.
Others chimed in with similar comments.
“The old desk is back. Finally!”
“THE FULL JUDGES DESK IS BACK”
