In the new “Civilization” Julius Caesar will no longer be able to launch a rocket into space.
The interface is based on a wheel menu, through which you can get to all the necessary sections: diplomacy, research, construction and creation of units. On the map itself, management is implemented in the same way as on the PC, but hexes will have to be chosen either with stacks or with a cross.
In addition, Haptic Feedback on Dual Sense will be implemented on Playstation 5.
Also, the developers from Firaxis talked a little about the game itself on the Playstation blog. The main innovation is that the game will now be divided into 3 eras: antiquity, the era of research and modernity. Each time segment will have its own leaders, that is, we will no longer see how a conventional Julius Caesar launches a rocket into space. IGN said that with the transition to a new era, some old areas are destroyed, and in the late game of Civilization VII, the player is forced to rebuild cities most of the time.
The game will have more flexible settings for the custom party: now the civilization and the leader can be chosen separately, which allows you to invent very interesting combinations of bonuses and effects.
Also, the game will have the ability to be limited to only one era, and in multiplayer there will be a limit of players, depending on the time period. A party in Antiquity and Age of Exploration can have no more than 5 players, while in modern times up to 8 players can play at the same time. The post states that Civilization VII will support crossplay between consoles and PC.
Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is scheduled for release on February 11. The game will be available on PC, Playstation 5, Xbox Series as well as Nintendo Switch.
We previously reported that Obsidian doesn’t mind that their Avowed is coming out in the same week as three other big projects, including Civilization VII.
