Russian songs are sung: a 'school' is operating in Kyiv, where they study the 'Russian peace' - investigationCurrently, more than 60 children are studying at the institution – they are students from 1st to 9th grade / screenshotIn Kyiv, there is an underground school in the monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate “Holosiivska Hust”, where the children of the parishioners are taught according to Soviet textbooks, shown Russian films and taught Russian songs.

According to the Slidstva.Info investigation, more than 60 children are currently studying in the underground school. In particular, these are students from the first to the ninth grade. According to the director of the institution, 16 teachers work at the school.

The director of the underground school is Anna Bolhova. She founded the so-called “Perspektiva” Orthodox school for Christian children, which has been operating since February 2025. The director calls this institution a “family club” that works like a normal school – children study five days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There is also an extended day group. The schoolchildren’s documents for formality are in licensed Ukrainian schools, although the children do not study there.

During the investigation, it was found that the underground school follows the Soviet system of education. For example, the usual four classes of primary school were reduced to three.

At the same time, journalists saw the subject “Slavic language” in the class schedule for the first grade. However, the primary school teacher Larisa Abrosimova explained that it is actually Russian.

At the same time, although the teacher claims that the teaching takes place in the Ukrainian language, the students’ parents say that it is “fifty to fifty”. The mother of one of the students of the school said:

“Here there is a big plus of learning the Russian language, reading and studying, because, I say, well, a person who, in fact, has a native Russian language, should write competently in this language.”

In addition, during the tour of the school, it was possible to get acquainted with the textbooks that first-graders study. Among them, for example, the arithmetic of the 1966 edition, i.e. Soviet times.

“It is designed for three years, that’s why we took it. It is the 66th year of publication. But then the children know mathematics very well,” says the primary school teacher.

At the same time, the director of the school at the monastery also talked about such subjects as “Film” and “Music”.

“On Mondays, we show good films. The last time we showed the film “5 Secrets of a Real Man” by the project “Obshcheye Delo” from Russia,” Bolhova said.

She also added that children sing Soviet songs in music lessons: “Of course, there were wonderful songs there. Even high school now teaches: “Pod nebom golubym esty gorod zolotoy” (a song by the Russian band “Akvarium”).

According to the investigators, judging by the words of the director, this educational institution at the monastery, despite the fact that it has all the signs of a regular school (a full school day from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., an extended day group, tests, assessments, etc.), operates without an official license.

In addition, the mother of one of the schoolgirls said that her daughter’s documents are in another school, which is legal, and studies take place at the monastery.

Prohibition of the UOC-MP in UkraineAs UNIAN reported, the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church and religious organizations affiliated with it are officially prohibited in Ukraine. In particular, this concerns the UOC MP.

Last year, the Lviv region became the first in Ukraine where there is no longer a single registered religious community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
