For the first time in the history of the Prize, the nomination was received by an open transgender actress, which was a significant step towards inclusiveness. In addition, the Academy decided to pay tribute to those who fought forest fires, making special changes to the event program. The format of presentation of nominated songs is also undergoing updates – the performances will be replaced by special segments that will emphasize the connection of the film industry with its inspired future.
One of the most discussed films “Brutalist” Brady Corbet received 10 nominations. The tape used the technology of the Ukrainian startup Respeecher, which helped the actors reproduce the Hungarian accent. However, the use of artificial intelligence has caused an ambiguous reaction on social networks and can even affect the chances of paintings on victory.
Another record holder can be Emilia Perez, which is nominated in 13 categories. If the tape wins in each of them, it will exceed the figures of cult paintings such as “Ben-Gur”, “Titanic” and “Lord of the Rings: Return of the King”, which received 11 statuettes.
By the way, Ukraine has a chance to get “Oscar” again – this time in the nomination “The best documentary” with work “Porcelain War” Brendan Bellomo and Slava Leontiev.
